Kurzlebenslauf:

Frank Fischer studierte Psychologie in Trier und Aachen, promovierte 1997 und habilitierte sich 2001 an der LMU München. Nach Stationen als Professor für Allgemeine Psychologie und für Lehr-/Lernforschung an den Universitäten Erfurt und Tübingen übernahm er 2006 den Lehrstuhl für Pädagogische Psychologie und Empirische Pädagogik an der LMU. Er lehrt dort die Psychologie des Lehrens und Lernens in den Studiengängen der Psychologie, der Bildungswissenschaft/Pädagogik und des Lehramts. In der Forschung befasst er sich mit dem digitalen Lernen, dem wissenschaftlichen Denken und Argumentieren sowie dem Diagnostizieren in Kontexten des computerunterstützten kollaborativen Lernens und des simulationsbasierten Lernens in der Lehrerbildung und in der Medizin. Er hat mehr als 30 Doktorarbeiten betreut.Er war Direktor des Departments Psychologie und Dekan der Fakultät für Psychologie und Pädagogik der LMU. Zudem war er Präsident der International Society of the Learning Sciences und ist seit 2009 Direktor des Munich Center of the Learning Sciences, an dem sich über 50 Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler aus acht Fakultäten in interdisziplinären Projekten sowie in internationalen Master- und PhD-Studiengängen engagieren. Seit 2019 ist er Mitglied der Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.
